There are multiple benefits to sand play. Sand is a great sensory toy for children as they explore their sense of touch and play and discover the wonderful texture of sand. Children will develop both gross and fine motor skills – large muscle groups benefit as they dig, scoop, pour, sift and crawl through sand whilst the addition of accessories like a small fork or pencil develops fine motor skills as they draw in the sand.
Unleash their imagination as you watch what they can create in the sand. Could they find dinosaur prints or dig deep to find their remains, will they build castles for their action figures and dolls or make a watering hole in the middle of the desert for all the animals –the hours of exploring and imagining are endless.
Our children's sandpit with seating has a dual-purpose top – either folds into useful seating so that children can sit and play above the sand or when sand play is finished the top converts into a closed cover.
This sandpit also includes a protective cover for when play is finished and has a black non-woven base-liner to prevent weeds and allow water drainage. By having a sandpit with a cover it protects the sand so it keeps the sand clean, ready for the next day. Made from 100% sustainable FSC Cypress wood which is naturally durable, and water and rot resistant. The wood is from socially and environmentally responsible forests and is FSC certified.
Sandpit is pre-treated with a water-based preservative.
